David Fernandez, MD, FACS, FAAOS Medical Director
Dr. David A. Fernandez MD, FACS, FAAOS is a distinguished, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon with 30 years of experience. Graduating with honors in Medicine from Michigan State University, he holds memberships in prestigious organizations like the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Fernandez's journey began with a diverse educational background, including a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Michigan and an Associate of Arts degree from Andrews University. He completed a residency at Montefiore Medical Center, followed by specialized fellowships in Reconstructive Spinal Surgery in Gainesville, Florida. As an Associate Clinical Professor at Michigan State University, he mentors students and teaches spine courses nationally. His expertise includes orthopedic hardware, international health lectures, and a wide range of spinal procedures. Dr. Fernandez's commitment to patient care was showcased during his tenure as a Commander in the US Navy, earning accolades for his service, notably during humanitarian missions in Haiti. Beyond medicine, he enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, exploring vegetarian cuisines, and speaks fluent Spanish while mastering Portuguese. His blend of experience, academic excellence, and military leadership underscores his dedication to advancing orthopedic care with a holistic approach.
Kathleen Smith, Nurse Operations Manager
Kathleen Smith, an experienced nurse with a 38-year healthcare career, spent 36 years specializing as an OR nurse, showcasing a passion for patient care and excellence. Her journey began with honors from the University of Toledo. Kathleen's visionary leadership optimized outpatient surgical care in Michigan, emphasizing quality and patient well-being. Her exceptional skills, mentoring legacy, and commitment to advancement continue to inspire the nursing community.
Yousef Al-Madrahi, Business Manager
Yousef Almadrahi has served as Chief Executive Officer of various medical organizations. His expertise is primarily focused on surgical centers. Yousef has served a multitude of surgery centers as Sr. Director of Operations. He was previously the Sr. Director of Operations at various Michigan surgery centers and a consultant in various additional States. He plays a significant role in running day-to-day operations, financial management, and business expansion initiatives. Yousef has extensive experience in primary, urgent, and pain rehabilitation centers.
